A Texas bluebonnet engagement session with more wildflowers and large oak trees? Yes please!

I was pretty thrilled when Brittany suggested doing a session in the flowers but of course, timing is the most important thing with the 2 week flowering window. After having a weird non-winter and warm February in totally unpredictable Texas style, this day in March was freezing. It was the one day that was windy and cold the whole month but thankfully the quilt came in good use to keep them warm. The light looked amazing and the bluebonnets were really blooming in Brenham.

We first started out in Independence, Texas at the Old Baylor Park. Typically this park has an abundance of wildflowers but this year they somewhat fizzled and the Indian paintbrushes were more dominant. I had a backup plan in case this was the issue and had scoped out another spot around Brenham previously. That field didn’t disappoint!
