Right before Thanksgiving I got an email from Sarah telling me about her Marine coming home for the holidays and had a limited time frame before he had to go back. Lucky for both of us, the scheduling worked perfectly! We decided on Floyd Lamb State Park in northern Las Vegas valley… but what I wasn’t prepared for were the awesome golden trees! It really didn’t seem like Vegas there.. a little oasis.
A few weeks before their run-away Vegas wedding, Alex explained to me their elopement here at a drive-thru chapel and wanted to spend the rest of the time with their bride and groom photo shoot. It doesn’t get any more Vegas than that!! With a limo escorting us around all day from the Wynn … to The Little White Chapel drive-thru window … to our shoot out in Nelson Ghost town, we had one fun day together. This was a true elopement of just the couple, the limo driver, and me (even being the signed witness!)
This was one really beautiful and very well put together wedding with a luncheon afterwards at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas. After what seemed like a quick 9 months, Heather and Johns wedding finally was here! All the little details that Heather put together for the wedding turned out beautifully: from the table assignment tags to the custom designed chocolate bars for guests as they left. The flowers by Naakati floral were amazing with pastels, and the lunch provided by the hotel was probably the best wedding food I’ve ever had (no joke!). Can you tell I loved this event?? Everything came together beautifully in the pictures with the colors. Congrats you two!
With the main focus of the shoot being the styled bridal part, here’s part two of the shoot! This part was more focused on glamour photography and some portfolio shots for the lovely model, Hendryx Friesen. The light was so awesome at this time of day as the sun set behind the mountains, and everything started turning to a dusty golden color mixed in with some blues and purple… mix that with the pinks of the dress? Perfect! Wish this type of light lasted forever and ever.
