The Barn at Swallows Eve in Fredericksburg is the quaint, quintessential Texas hill country wedding venue. The venue is family owned, has so many different spots to have your ceremony and a huge barn to dance the night away. Sara and Randy’s patriotic military wedding was perfect even though their summer wedding had to be moved up to February (yay for ever changing military dates!)

Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot
With every wedding that I travel to, I get there early and can do a pre-wedding shoot instead of an engagement session. This is a great time to get photos done before your destination wedding in case you didn’t have time to have them done, and for you to feel less awkward during wedding day photos. Though I did Sara’s bridal photos, I had never gotten them together in front of the camera. Who doesn’t like more photos at their wedding venue as well!
Wedding Day – Getting Ready
I first met Sara and Randy at the venue open house and immediately chatted about being from Houston, their plans and chatted with the whole family about how much they were helping out with every aspect of the event. Sara’s dad catered the whole wedding day and Randy’s mom made the cakes while the rest of the friends family pitched in to decorate the rest.
Wedding Formal Photos
I took everyone outside on this amazing sunshine filled day next to the barn to capture that true Hill Country vibe. Sara and Randy opted for a first look to get most of their photos done before the ceremony.
Wedding Ceremony
This spot is one of the many ceremony locations at The Barn and featured a large raised platform for the bridal party to stand on. It can be decorated in all the flowers you’d like!
Wedding Reception
The inside of the barn can hold a ton of people, and can expand to seat people on the covered patio as well. The whole family pitched in to set the tables and kept it DIY with their patriotic wedding decor.
Though Sara and Randy are off now doing big things with school and work, this is one wedding I wish that could happen over and over again with such a sweet couple and amazing family to be behind them. Congratulations!
