A Texas bluebonnet engagement session with more wildflowers and large oak trees? Yes please! I was pretty thrilled when Brittany suggested doing a session in the flowers but of course, timing is the most important thing with the 2 week flowering window. After having a weird non-winter and warm February in totally unpredictable Texas style, this day in March was freezing. It was the one day that was windy and cold the whole month but thankfully the quilt came in good use to keep them warm. The light looked amazing and the bluebonnets were really blooming in Brenham.
This Hermann Park engagement was a new adventure featuring Kate, Cameron, and their 3 adorable dogs. I have had shoots with dogs before, but never 2 rottweilers and a pug! I knew there would be some adventure wandering through the crowded park with 3 dogs in tow. Thanks to Cameron's parents for their last minute trip to help wrangle the herd! This was an unseasonably warm Saturday in mid-February but with Texas you never know what you might get in the morning, then could snow by the afternoon. We still wanted to do the cute blanket shot at the end though it might involve sweating.
This Houston couple and I lucked out! While I was transitioning between Texas and Las Vegas, I was able to shoot their wedding when I happened to be going back to finish off my remaining sessions for 2015. Torey told me all about their Houston destination wedding to Vegas they had planned at the Wedgewood Wedding and Events Center at Stallion Mountain. I couldn't believe Laura was super busy juggling law school all while planning a wedding, but it all came together beautifully for their day! We met in Houston to go over all of the details and get to know them a bit better before their trip.
I love how every destination elopement to Las Vegas is different from the next. Ameera and Michael decided to run off to Vegas to elope and have a shoot in their amazing attire the next day around the Strip for a few hours. They want to have a very large wedding and saving up for it in a couple of years, but decided they couldn't wait to officially tie the knot and have some time together. Ameeras blush bridal gown was amazing and made of Faille fabric. I truly had never seen anything like it before.
I can't believe after living in Las Vegas for 10+ years now, I had never made it to the Grand Canyon. This Grand Canyon wedding was an adventure with the bride, groom, and their three young boys in tow. We started off at the M Resort before being shuttled down to Boulder City to catch our helicopter to the Grand Canyon ridge where the company has everything set up and waiting to perform the ceremony overlooking the Colorado River at sunset. It was awesome seeing the Canyon for the first time from this amazing point of view. We headed back into town after landing with a quick photo tour around the Las Vegas Strip and downtown.
